LOC is a project that consists of a virtual platform, which is accessible for the general public through AR technology on-site. With every new project added, it will build-up towards a virtual version of the city of Cluj-Napoca, which will exist as an exploration and debate space, touching on pressing topics such as global warming, gentrification, access to resources, segregation, urban planning and not least, living with our non-human cohabitors. The three main directions of the project are the Contemporary Art Platform, the Educational Platform and the Research and Debate Platform. These will come together as tools to initiate dialogue and interaction between the artists, scientists, civil society actors and the wide public, and to create the possibility of exploring the future of what it means to live together with each other and with the environment.
The Central Park is the second chapter of the augmented reality application LOC. Through it, visitors to the park can immerse themselves in a series of interactive installations that explore less known elements of the biodiversity of this popular and loved location.
We will experience LOC in a guided tour and an interactive experience with Marius Mornea, part of the team which developed the platform. The session will explore ways in which we are entangled in the world and will guide us into a discussion on our connections with nature.
