Workshop #2
The meeting presents how over 100 teachers from 26 counties, mainly from rural areas, found out in 2021 in didactic workshops held online how they can deepen elements of the school curriculum related to science, technology, engineering and mathematics in museums and in the formal framework.
The STIMescu project at the museum integrated heritage objects from museums and well-thought-out stories in a formative course for teachers interested in education through culture. The activities were carried out by Andreia Petcu, pedagogue, from the Learning by Teaching Association (project coordinator), in collaboration with cultural educators of the Bucharest City Museum and the National Museum of Old Maps and Books. The team has created several support materials that can be further used by teachers and museum educators, as well as models of collaboration between schools, kindergartens and museums, which value cultural heritage online, thus opening up access to culture at a distance .
Andreia Petcu, science teacher and co-founder of the Learning by Teaching Association, and Aurelia Boriceanu, preschool teacher at Kindergarten no. 3 from Săcele, Brașov county. The guests will present the working method, the results and the materials that are available to others interested in integrated access to culture and education, as well as the current developments of the project.
The workshop is dedicated to teachers, museum educators and all those who want to develop or apply the method and use the educational materials.
